Not Drum N Bass, otherwise good
Style, if anything, resembles rock (I say this as a non-rock listener). If you want to write Drum N Bass, use much more snare, and, in want of better words, interrupt yourself regularly. My drum parts tend to restart several times per measure, and I slice them heavily.
The individual melodies work, but the piece itself seems to be a case of too many ideas. This should have been separated into two pieces.
Is that actual guitar or synth?
Sampled and processed guitar so I guess half real. The Compression in Garageband is quite impressive. Thanks for the great advice. This was my first track kinda breakin down some bad walls. So it's kinda rough. I have a lot more thought to put into this. I am still learning how to slice and layout. So I really appreciate the tips and corrections. Thanks.
Shaky transitions, but fun music.
Great style. Definitely is fun to listen to. I'm usually not a jazz listener, but the chord progressions seemed fresh to me.
Some of the transitions are awkward - segments with different chord patterns seem to be simply thrown together. The most glaring example is around 3:37. Have you tried adding a bridge?
Drum parts could use some work. Remember that kick-snare patterns are your friend - several in the middle seemed to be snare-hat.
Could also use some mastering - I recommend FLStudio's Soundgoodizer A or the equivalent Maximus settings.
I like listening to nice stuff like this, once the noisy techno starts wearing on me.
Yeah, the chords were really what I wanted to sound good. Yeah, with jazz I've noticed it's a little hard to transition. It's actually just a piano riff, which was the hardest part to add. Yeah, I tried putting less hat to the song cuz I do understand the kick could've been better. If the mastering part is about how the guitar sounds, I added some FX's to it cuz I actually didn't have any problems with mastering this. Yeah, techno can sometimes get tired some, so that's why a good musical transition is good. Thanx for the review!
Atonal mess
The melody seems entirely random, the chords are repetitive, and the whole thing lacks variation.
My advice would be to start with the melody - a good melody should stand on its own - and make sure the bassline changes occasionally. Ideally, you should only have to slow down this way when you want to emphasize something.
That's what minimalism is, deal wit it. I also felt like making it atonal, if you see my other works, they are very tone obsessed
